Kino Lorber has acquired North American distribution rights to Rafael Manuel’s surreal and stylized debut feature 'Filipiñana', executive produced by Jia Zhangke. Winner of the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, the film will next make its European premiere at the Berlinale on February 15. 'Filipiñana' will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber later this year followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

Kino Lorber has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Arnaud Desplechin’s stirring melodrama 'Two Pianos', starring François Civil ('Beating Hearts'), Nadia Tereszkiewicz ('The Crime is Mine'), and Charlotte Rampling. The film made its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and will make its New York Premiere at Rendez-Vous with French Cinema on March 5, with Desplechin in attendance. 'Two Pianos' will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber this spring followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

Kino Lorber has acquired North American distribution rights to David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin’s award-winning documentary 'Mr. Nobody Against Putin' from international sales agent DR Sales. A daring work of nonfiction cinema that offers a rare glimpse inside Russia, the film made its World Premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where it was awarded the World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award, and has gone on to screen at film festivals around the world including DOC NYC, CPH:DOX, and Sheffield Doc Fest. The film is one of 15 selected for this year’s Oscars® Shortlist for Best Documentary Feature Film. 'Mr. Nobody Against Putin' will be released by Kino Lorber in select theaters and streaming on the Kino Film Collection beginning January 22, with an educational and home video release to follow.

Kino Lorber has acquired North American distribution rights to Milagros Mumenthaler’s absorbing psychological drama 'The Currents'. The haunting and dreamlike third feature by writer-director Milagros Mumenthaler made its World Premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and has gone on to screen at San Sebastian, AFI Fest, Busan, and the New York Film Festival. 'The Currents' will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber in 2026 followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

Following its highly acclaimed Sundance premiere, Sophie Hyde’s 'Jimpa' has landed key distribution deals in North America and the UK, with Kino Lorber picking up the rights for North America and Icon Film Distribution acquiring rights for the UK. The film stars Academy Award® winner Olivia Colman, Emmy® winner John Lithgow, and rising talent Aud Mason-Hyde in a deeply personal, uplifting story of love, conflict, and connection across generations.

Kino Lorber has acquired North American distribution rights to Nadav Lapid’s 'YES', an explosive, exhilarating satire set and filmed in Israel in the aftermath of October 7. Written and directed by Lapid, the film made its World Premiere in Directors’ Fortnight at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and was an official selection at Karlovy Vary and the Jerusalem Film Festival. Kino Lorber has acquired North American distribution rights to Sepideh Farsi’s 'Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk', a powerful document of life in Gaza during the Israeli military invasion told through video conversations with young Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hassouna. The documentary made its World Premiere in the Cannes 2025 ACID section and most recently screened at the 2025 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. 'Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk' will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

Zeitgeist Films in association with Kino Lorber has acquired North American rights to 'Monk in Pieces', a revealing documentary portrait of the innovative interdisciplinary artist Meredith Monk which made its World Premiere at the 2025 Berlinale and recently made its US premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival. Zeitgeist Films will release the film theatrically at the IFC Center in New York this summer with a national rollout to follow.

Kino Lorber has acquired North American distribution rights to 'Shari & Lamb Chop', a documentary portrait of trailblazing children’s entertainer Shari Lewis and her beloved sock puppet Lamb Chop, in a deal brokered by Concord Originals. The documentary is directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Lisa D’Apolito ('Love, Gilda'), produced by White Horse Pictures and MoJo Global Arts and presented by Concord Originals and Olive Hill Media in association with The 51 Fund, Carlene Laughlin and Chicago Media Project. 'Shari & Lamb Chop' made its World Premiere at DOC NYC and will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber on July 18, followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

Zeitgeist Films in association with Kino Lorber has acquired from Bankside Films all U.S. rights to Ido Fluk’s 'Köln 75', which tells the inside story behind Keith Jarrett’s fabled record-breaking 1975 concert in Cologne, Germany. Zeitgeist Films will release the film theatrically at the IFC Center in New York this fall with a national rollout to follow.

Kino Lorber has acquired US and English-speaking Canada distribution rights to Boris Lojkine’s 'Souleymane’s Story', a riveting, ticking-clock drama following a bicycle deliveryman in Paris in the days leading up to his asylum interview. 'Souleymane’s Story' made its World Premiere in Un Certain Regard at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it was awarded the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize and the Best Actor Prize for non-professional lead actor Abou Sangare as Souleymane. The film will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber on August 1, followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

Kino Lorber has acquired U.S. distribution rights to 'Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore', a documentary portrait of the trailblazing Deaf Academy Award-winning actor and activist Marlee Matlin that offers an unflinching look at Matlin’s remarkable life through the lens of her primary language, American Sign Language. The directorial debut of Deaf actor and writer Shoshannah Stern, 'Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore' made its World Premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in U.S. Documentary Competition and is also an official selection of SXSW and the San Francisco Film Festival. The film will make its New York Premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June with Matlin and Stern in attendance and will be released theatrically by Kino Lorber on June 20, followed by a digital, educational, and home video release.

'Little Trouble Girls' by Urška Djukić, which opened Berlinale’s new Perspectives Competition Section and walked away with the FIPRESCI award, has sold to multiple territories including Kino Lorber for North America; BFI Distribution for UK and Ireland; as well as France, Germany, Benelux and more by Athens-based sales agent Heretic. Kino Lorber is planning a theatrical, digital, and home video release in North America later this year.

Winner of the Truer Than Fiction Award at the 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards and a New York Times Critic’s Pick, 'A Photographic Memory' is an intimate, genre-bending portrait of the filmmaker’s trailblazing mother, Sheila Turner Seed – a vibrant and pioneering journalist, photographer, and filmmaker, who died suddenly and tragically when Rachel was just 18 months old. Zeitgeist Films is planning a theatrical release in early summer 2025.
